There are four types of investors according to SEC regulation as follows:
1. Retail investor
2. Institutional Investor
3. High Net Worth Investors
4. Ultra High Net Worth Investors
The differences in investment limitations for each type of investors are as follows:
Investor type | maximum investment amount per security | maximum investment amount across all platforms |
Retail investor | 100,000 baht per company | 1 million baht per 12 months, excluding repaid crowdfunding bonds |
Institutional Investor | no limit | no limit |
High Net Worth Investor | no limit | no limit |
Ultra High Net Worth Investor | no limit | no limit |
Remark:
- Retail investor can change the status to Institutional Investor, Hight Net Worth Investors and Ultra High Net Worth by submitting document for qualification verification according to SEC regulations.
- Issuer can raise fund from retail investors with a total amount not exceeding 50 million baht in cumulative.
